Key Takeaways
- Acura announces pricing and availability for the 2025 MDX SUV.
- The recently facelifted luxury SUV has a starting price of $50,900.
- New trims and enhanced standard equipment broaden appeal.
Earlier this year, Acura updated its best-selling model for MY2025, giving the MDX a fresh look, more technology, additional standard equipment, and a new trim. While there are no powertrain differences, customers will appreciate the changes that have been made. Importantly, the automaker has shared pricing and availability for the refreshed luxury SUV. Before we revisit the changes, let’s take a look at the revised pricing structure for the MDX. The prices listed below do not include Acura’s $1,350 destination charge.

Updates For 2025
All models receive a new open-frame Diamond Pentagon grille with a diamond-pattern mesh design. Standard ‘JewelEye’ LED headlights and ‘Chicane’ LED daytime running lights are also part of the package. If you’re looking for more, the A-Spec models gain the sportier fascia from the MDX Type S, black exterior trim, 20-inch wheels, and A-Spec badges.
Moving on to the desirable Type S, Acura has given the athletic variant an open-surface mesh grille pattern, 21-inch split-spoke wheels (with a machined finish) in Berlina Black, quad exhaust pipes nestled within a rear diffuser, and red-painted Brembo four-piston front brake calipers. MDX models equipped with Technology Package and Advanced Package also receive 20-inch wheels. Customers can choose from two new paint colors, Canyon River Blue Metallic and Urban Gray Pearl, first seen on the 2024 TLX.
No Engine Upgrades, But It’s Quieter Than Before
As a reminder, the MDX is powered by a naturally aspirated 3.5-liter V6 engine that develops 290 horsepower and 267 lb-ft of torque. This powertrain is available with front- or all-wheel drive. The Type S is offered with AWD only and uses a turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 with a respectable 355 hp and 354 lb-ft. As mentioned, no engine upgrades have been made, but 2025 MDX models with the Technology Package, Advance Package, and A-Spec are 10% quieter than before. Laminated glass in the rear doors, extra door insulation, and new fender liners are fitted to these models.
The newly introduced MDX A-Spec with Advance Package receives plenty of standard equipment, such as heated second-row outboard seating, a head-up display, 16-way power-adjustable seats, and a 360-degree camera. Advance Package models also receive leather-trimmed curvilinear-quilted massage front seats. This package was previously exclusive to the Type S. Speaking of, the top-spec MDX now ships standard with the Advance Package (previously an option), which introduces Milano leather trim, a heated steering wheel, head-up display, 16-way power-adjustable front seats with a massage function, a 360-degree camera, and rear heated seats.
New Sound Systems, Google Built-In, And An Updated Touchscreen
Elsewhere, the entire lineup benefits from a new 12.3-inch touchscreen with Google built-in. It will be interesting to see whether the MDX receives the planned gaming and streaming services that Google showcased earlier this year. The new touchscreen eliminates the touchpad, freeing up the center console for storage. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard on all models.
The available sound systems are also impressive, with two new Bang & Olufsen audio systems developed exclusively for the MDX. The Technology Package, Advance Package, and A-Spec models receive a 19-speaker system. If you think that’s impressive, the Type S with Advance Package receives a 31-speaker sound system, 12 of which are in the headliner. Both systems use Bang & Olufsen’s 3D Sound Control Technology. The 2025 MDX receives the AcuraWatch suite of driver-assist systems. For 2025, the tech has been upgraded, with an increased range for blind spot monitoring and lane keep assist systems. The MDX Type S with Advance Package receives AcuraWatch 360 as standard. This includes even more driver assists, such as a front cross-traffic warning, Active Lane Change Assist, and Lane Change Collision Mitigation.
